In 2000, Cindy Leung co-founded and established a renowned IB World School in Vancouver. As a co-founder she played a vital role in the school's management and growth for over 18 years. With UNISUS, Cindy is passionate about developing an innovative independent school that nurtures the student's full potential and their curiosities.

GARY LITTLE

FOCUS: SCHOOL POLICY,  IB PROGRAM AND TEACHER RECRUITMENT

Gary Little is the first appointed Director of International Baccalaureate Educator Programs at UBC. He served for over 36 years as an educator in the Vancouver School District. Gary started his career as an English teacher and concluded as an associate superintendent responsible for over 30   schools in South Vancouver.

  • President of the Vancouver Counsellors' Association
  • President of the Vancouver Association of Secondary School Administrators
  • Scholarship Director of PCAHA's selection committee
  • Member-at-Large on the Executive of B.C. School Superintendents' Association -- Metro Chapter
  • Volunteer roles with Take-a-Hike, Dogwood 25, Stratford Hall School and Yo Bro Yo Girl Youth Initiative.

Continuing Contributions:

  • Vice-Chair of the International Baccalaureate Regional Council (2009-2015)
  • IB Category 1 and 2 workshop leader
  • Co-written and co-led a Category 3 workshop series entitled 'Your District, Your IB'
  • Presenter to IB Annual Regional Conferences in Montreal, Chicago and Washington, D.C.
  • IB writer in curriculum and articles
  • Keynote speaker for the Executive Director's Forum in Rio Rico, Arizona, Career Stages in Teaching and Administration

Mr. Little resides in Vancouver and he believes the timing is right for the Okanagan to have a high-quality, globally focused International Baccalaureate school. He is proud to be part of the inaugural advisory team.

nIGEL TOY

FOCUS: BOARDING AND ATHLETICS

Through his 45 years of involvement in education, Nigel Toy has established a considerable reputation in Asia and North America for his outstanding leadership at two globally recognized independent schools. His expertise with boarding and extra-curricular programs is an asset at UNISUS. Nigel stresses the importance of a comprehensive athletic program where strong leadership and collaborative skills are developed.

  • Head of School, St. George’s School, Vancouver, BC (1997-2010)
  • Head of School, St. Kentigern College in New Zealand (1983-1997)
  • A mentor and advisor to numerous teachers and principals to other independent schools.

Since retirement, Mr. Toy has been consulting for schools in Asia. Nigel resides in Squamish and is excited to see the beautiful campus operating and providing first class education once again. Mr. Toy is excited about the opportunity to contribute innovative ideas on our boarding and athletic programs at UNISUS

ISOBEL WILLARD

FOCUS: SCHOOL ADMINISTRATION AND IB DIPLOMA PROGRAM

Isobel Willard has 40 years of experience in teaching, administration, and curriculum design. This diverse experience continues to empower Isobel in making contributions that help schools attain long term success. Isobel’s passion for education has driven her to devote her career towards taking meaningful action to help improve education in British Columbia.

  • UBC Faculty of Education - Adjunct Professor, started the IBDP Teacher candidate cohort at UBC. Currently works with students in the program (2014-present)
  • IB Coordinator, Vice Principal at Mulgrave International School (2007-11). Senior School Principal (2011-14)
  • IB Teacher and Coordinator at Sir Winston Churchill Secondary School (1984-2007)
  • Ongoing IB site evaluator
  • IBDP workshops for parents and teachers
  • Member of Colegios del Mundo and the Independent Schools Association of BC
  • Consultant for IB Start-up Schools

Isobel resides in Vancouver and she is excited to support our efforts to focus on the Student Experience. This includes intellectually stimulating activities and integrating entrepreneurial experiences into our program.

RAY RAGGETT

FOCUS: EDUCATIONAL AND LEARNING TECHNOLOGIES

Ray has over fifteen years of experience in technological and project management. Within education, he has been involved with many institutions ranging from public schools and districts, independent schools, trustees and boards, to post-secondary institutions.
