UNISUS Freestyle Snowsports Academy Coach: Kristi Richards - 2 X Olympian, World Champion, Mogul Skiing
The freestyle skiing and snowboarding program will be based at Apex Mountain Ski Resort – home to KR Academy and will be led by hometown hero and 2X Olympian, Kristi Richards. Kristi is an NCCP Advanced Coach, with Air 4 and doubles certifications. Kristi is a Freestyle Canada Learning Facilitator for mentoring and teaching coach candidates. Her Olympic experience gives her the first-hand knowledge to guide and develop customized programs to meet each athlete where they are at in their athletic pathway. She brings a professional platform, and a skilled team together for the support network of each athlete.
The alpine component of the program will be coached by Jorgen Anderson from the Apex Ski Club, who has a long track record of enabling alpine athletes to achieve provincial, national and international success in the world of alpine skiing.
Apex Mountain Ski Resort is behind the academy's vision to elevate the sport, attract high-level athletes and teams to the resort, connect the community, and support athletes to give them an opportunity to reach their own athletic goals.

The exciting thing about this program is that the curriculum and the timetables will be built to support both athletics and academics and it will feel like one integrated system so that way you are going to get a lot of contact hours, both in school and up at the hill, so it will be very exciting.
