Enrichment

A Place to Deepen Learning, Discover Passions and Build Confidence

The UNISUS Enrichment program takes our students on an enriched and challenging journey of self-discovery, encouraging them to pursue their passions and interests as both an individual and in a team setting.

By 2035, over 50% of current roles are expected to be obsolete, and future leaders will need new skill sets and tools to thrive in a world transformed by technologies like AI. At the same time, maintaining a connection to nature, prioritizing physical and mental health, and fostering creative expression will be crucial for balance in an increasingly digital world.

At UNISUS, students have the opportunity to discover and deepen their talents and interests outside the classroom through a broad range of activities designed to complement and extend the IB curriculum, building these critical and new skills required to succeed in an ever changing world.

Our Enrichment Programs are designed to extend daily academic learning, incorporating experiential student-empowered learning opportunities to prepare students for self leadership in life, and in their future careers. In some programs, we partner with expert external and internal providers from the community or connect to virtual learning opportunities from across the globe. Enrichment programs provide opportunities to build competency sets beyond the regular curriculum.

Enrichment in Each Grade

In Kindergarten-Gr. 5, Enrichment opportunities are built into their day (music, art, drama, outdoor education, technology, entrepreneurship...etc) so students are exposed to all options.

Beginning in Grade 6, academic classes are scheduled in the mornings for three days a week of their weekly schedule, with those afternoons dedicated to discovering and pursuing passions (see below). For those 3 afternoons a week, students can choose from our Scholar-Athlete programs in Soccer, Hockey, Snowsports or Motorsports, or, they can explore Enrichment electives within the areas of fine arts, music, outdoor education, entrepreneurship, multi-sport, leadership, and world languages.

Once students are in Grades 11-12, students may be able to continue to pursue their Enrichments or Scholar-Athlete programs depending on their academic schedule.

Gr. 6-10 Weekly Schedule with Enrichment Blocks

*Once students are in Grade 10 and up, they may only be able to access these afternoons twice per week depending on their schedule.
